"animals strike curious poses, they feel the heat, the heat between me and you... "
It was an idiotic lyric that just annoyed me when it was released and it is just as stupid and annoying now I can just imagine a deer or squirrel doing a comedic eye popping double-take.
And what the hell does it sound like when doves cry...and do they even cry ?
A friggin' moronic song . But... that's Prince for ya
Ever since my wicked brother told me that Elmer Bernstein's magnificent score for The Great Escape was based on a popular WW2 song, my mind refuses to hear the title theme without the damn lyrics popping into my head. My brother liked to torment me in such ways. I can only hope that Alzheimer's will cure this problem for me.

I think that might have been BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI... Something about the size (or absence) of testicles... But I might be getting my knickers in a twist (Ouch! My balls!).
I never cared much for Stevie Wonder's -
"I just called to say I love you, I just called to say how much I care, I just called to say I love you, And I mean it from the bottom of my... (can't quite recall - "hair"? "chair"? - ah, now I remember - heart".
I too can't stand lyrics that repeat about 200 times (or at least SEEM to repeat that many times!). For me, it's a nightmare being stuck near someone playing a song with repetitious lyrics like that! Just don't understand how anyone can take it!
Not to get too far off the path, but some religions, including, I believe, Tibetan Buddhism, depict Hell as cold. Dante's Inferno also portrays the 9th circle of Hell as a frozen lake. So this is likely where the phrase "cold as Hell" is derived from.
As for annoying lyrics, I like Tim McGraw, but one song of his contains the lyric, "She sits there quietly, like water in a jar." First time I heard it on the radio, I was like, "What?" LOL!

The outro of "Hey Jude" comes to mind. Not one of my favorite Beatles tunes.
I was being sarcastic because so many of there songs they do repeat the same lyrics over and over again. Then there is that hit song from the early 60's lollipop , lollipop, lollipop lollipop-----lollipop.
Don't get me wrong, I love the song[composition-Jimmy webb] it is a classic- Macarthur park--But someone left the cake out in the rain, I don't think I can take it, i'll never have the recipe again, oh no-What is that, a man who works in a bakery going berserk? Yes I know as a artist about all those deep subtle meanings hiding in words, but this one, i don't really get it.

Totally agree - lyrics that keep repeating through a song is SOOOOOOO un-creative...:-(
