Cool, OMENesque score by Band. Not at all digging the cover art for this new release, but the original CD sounded pretty dull and muffled, so it would be difficult not to improve on that.

Perfect. What is the running time of the CD?

Compared to the previous release, the cover looks cheap. As for the sound quality, I hope it wont be another "Mutant" so I will await samples and reviews. The movie is terrible and for me unwatchable, like most of the movies Richard Band scored (Prison, Puppet Master, ...). Though they seem to have their following.

I have to assume Perseverance worked with Richard Band and not Full Moon. From what I do know about the Full Moon film label, Charles Band is not easy to work with if he isn't the one doing business with you. Richard owns his masters. I assume they used that cover because they couldn't get Charles to give them any art. So sad as I did like the original key art.

It's one of my favorite RB Full Moon scores.

It's one of my favorite RB Full Moon scores.

For me favorite Richard Band score it's a toss up between Mutant and Reanimator. But the Pit and Pendulum makes for a good score simply because of that Omenesque quality.

Gotta go with HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW. If there was more music than featured on the 1993 Intrada CD, I'd buy an expanded version in a heartbeat.

As for this, nice that there's a track listing, even if it seems a touch...gruesome. Also, I don't mind the cover; the girl's in a pit with a pendulum swinging. Truth in advertising wins the day.

February can't get here fast enough.

Got excited when I thought this was Les Baxter.

Got excited when I found out this wasn't Les Baxter.

Looking forward to getting this now as I've always enjoyed Band's scores to those cheesy Full Moon movies

A pity (no pun intended!) that the most beautiful choral material in this score is not by Band.

Why there is still no information about this on Perseverance's website?

There's a cover I hope they wont change for future releases! wink

Just noticed I haven't added this to Itunes yet, will give it a spin tonight!

OK. got the new edition from perseverance.

unlike mutant which sound inferior to Intrada edition IMO and add only couple of unnecessary minutes.

this one has 15 additional minutes and the sound defiantly has more boost (gain) and clear.
it shows some of the flaws of the synth tracks (but they were there on the original - now after the remaster they just sound more 'present').

the additional tracks sound even to the original (unlike mutant) - so this is improvement.
regarding the additional music: lot's of short cues BUT there are some great additions like the prologue and
the curse scene which were absent from the original.

overall i highly recommend to upgrade. this is defiantly one of his best.
it's sound great and it's great to hear it complete at last.
liner notes is nice. has 3 unique sections: director stuart gordon talks about the score, summarize of the movie and production, Richard band talk about the score.

the cover is horrible but oh well...(wish they included the poster art).

so to summarize:
pros: complete (+15 min), sound
cons: cover

overall, job well done Perseverance!

I asked Robin about the art. While Richard Band owns his Full Moon masters, Charles Band owns the Full Moon movies and their key art. Robin said Charles just doesn't respond to requests for art so he hired somebody to do some art at the last minute.

Can't win em all I guess.
