Dear Ford:

What upsets me is your arrogance and nasty tone.

Some of us still have things called amplifiers with speakers attached....and we can tell the difference.

We can accept less quality... But noting its deficiencies does not make us whiners but those who strive for better.

Chill...

That's right. As the customers we are all entitled to expect at least some level of quality of the product we are supposed to spend our money for. Since there is no good quality product available, I am not going spend a single penny on it.

No CD = no sale.

Most folks listen to there music on ear buds off their phone or or some sort of digital device, boom boxes linked to their IPOD or some digital device or just in their car.

May be true, but I'm not going to squander my state of the art Stereo System. It is almost like having an orchestra in my room.

I have enough CD's to last 10 lifetimes, so if they eliminate CD's. I will not buy downloads. I did once, the Copland film music on Naxos that was never issued on CD, that I never listen to.

Or your reading of it that way, I'm sorry but I live in the real world and you don't seem to challenge anything I've stated thus far, do you?

Some of us still have things called amplifiers with speakers attached....and we can tell the difference.

which makes you about .0005 of the folks who consume music...

I'm not saying the ITUNES format is the best, but if you just want to LISTEN to the music, it works out fairly well and makes such releases as the one that stated this thread COST EFFECTIVE to release.

Would you rather them not do it on ITUNES?

We can accept less quality... But noting its deficiencies does not make us whiners but those who strive for better.

Oh please, 20 years ago scores like this would have never seen the light of day, today ITUNES make it possible.

I think that is good thing indeed.

No CD-No Buy

Your loss if you wanted the MUSIC...

Your choice, but don't whine that the music isn't available either.

You've been living with 16bit 44.1 for the last 30 years..

And here is a reality check you won't like: There aren't enough of you who would buy this specific score to over the costs of putting it out on CD.

That's the cold hard truth of the matter.

If you don't want to download it, fine that is your choice.

But don't pretend that if you want to hear the MUSIC, it's not available either.

I would pay for downloads, if they would release them in higher quality. If it was $5.99 an album I might have no problem with these iTunes releases but at the same price as the average CD ($9.99 or more) then it is not worth it. Now if it was $9.99 for a lossless download i might buy a few here and there. I am boycotting both CDs and downloads until we can see proper lossless downloads of the majority of releases.

The average human being 99% of time between a Mp4 download or a WAV Film at 24 Bit 96k.

Most folks listen to there music on ear buds off their phone or or some sort of digital device, boom boxes linked to their IPOD or some digital device or just in their car.

You'd more then not likely hear any real device in these places.

That's just the cold and hard fact of life.

If it upsets you, that's just the way it goes.

You are right. I won't hear the difference between CD quality and 24 bit but I can occasionally hear the difference between the lossy versions sold and the CD. At the same time I am tired of buying CDs and would love to be able to just buy CD quality downloads. Anything less and it isn't worth the money.

I do have a pretty solid home music setup with two large Klipsich speakers connected to a receiver that I would like to make the most out of. Sure the majority of people listen to music in a setup where they won't notice the difference but that doesn't mean that those of us who can should be stuck with lower quality junk.

Plus who said we wouldn't be able to hear the music? It is still out there where you can listen, I just won't be paying any money for it. Most releases I can listen to on Spotify without paying anything.

Wow... I never cease to be amazed.

My apology to all for baiting a resident curmudgeon/troll.

I will stop.

Sorry (now happily listening to a 78 rpm Edison disc...)..

Of course as has been started many many many times before (and probably will again) lossless vs lossy is more than just a sound quality issue.
And yeah, not spending money is good. Having more for other things I guess...

(And for me, I'm too OCD to have M4A files over Mp3 ones though that's irrelevant given I won't buy lossy any more anyway....)

My Father and I also have great stereos and that is where we listen to most of our scores. I have nights where I come home from a stressful day at work, sit on the couch and play music with the lights out to end the day. Yes, I have a car stereo, but there is too much noise to fully enjoy the music performed. I do have an mp3 player which I use when I am on my daily run, but that is to just past the time while running. We also have enough CD's/LP's of original scores to last a lifetime, so when the CD does disappear we will survive.

Would love to have some more Debney in my collection, but not by download.

Does no one else find it funny that there's all this back and forth about the soundtrack to freaking WALK OF SHAME?

The trailer's right there in the first post. So much energy expended over so little.

Yeah this is probably a score that doesn't deserve a release at all. And if I was a label I wouldn't waste my time with some really short score putting it out on CD. That being said, the debate rages on.
