THURSDAY, JANUARY 16

THE DIRECTOR---Sony Pictures bought the movie rights to the upcoming novel by Paul Ignatius (BODY OF LIES) in which the new CIA Director and the CIA's top computer geek go on an international hunt to find the hacker who hacked into the CIA's computers and obtained the names of its agents. Paul Greengrass (CAPTAIN PHILLIPS, THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM) is expected to be the writer/director.

THE AGE OF ADALINE---Harrison Ford will co-star with Blake Lively and Ellen Burstyn in this movie about a 29-year-old woman who never ages after being in a near-fatal accident. She then seeks the love of her life while hiding her secret.

24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY---Benjamin Bratt (LAW & ORDER) will play the head of CIA operations in London who is pursuing fugitive Jack Bauer as he attempts to stop a terrorist attack. Yvonne Strahovski (CHUCK) will play a CIA agent also aiding in the hunt for Bauer.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON---Thomas Kretschmann (DRACULA) will play secondary villain Baron Manfred von Strucker.

LABYRINTH---The CW four-hour miniseries set in France in which the lives of a current-day female archaeologist and a medieval woman are intertwined in the search for the Holy Grail. John Hurt, Jessica Brown-Findlay, Sebastian Stan and Vanessa Kirby star.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY---Ryan Murphy said the final episodes of Season 3 will hint at Season 4's storyline. Murphy gave a hint at Season 4, "It's set in 1950. If you look historically what happened in the year 1950, there’s some more clues in that year. It's a period piece. We try and do the opposite of what we've done before. Jessica Lange has already started practicing her German accent so I'm very excited!"

UNDER THE DOME---returns on June 30.

AMAZON---The CW canceled the Wonder Woman series it was developing but will continue another DC Comics series based on HOURMAN.

NBC---the network ordered three sitcom pilots. MISSION CONTROL is set in 1962 with a liberated woman competing with a tough astronaut to be the first human on the Moon. Will Ferrell is executive producer. LOVE IS RELATIVE is about newlyweds and the bride's just-divorced brother who moves in with them. ELLEN MORE OR LESS is about a woman who loses 100 pounds and reinvents herself to improve her love life.

VERONICA MARS---The CW and creator Rob Thomas are developing a Web-based spin-off series with 6-8 ten minute episodes.

DJANGO LIVES---sequel underway with Franco Nero returning to the role he originated in the 1966 movie DJANGO. The sequel is set in 1915 with Django working as a movie consultant who is pursued by mobsters and winds up in a town run by violent radicals who are inspired by DW Griffith's BIRTH OF A NATION.

A SPECK IN THE SEA--Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are being sought to star in this movie based on the true story of a fisherman who fell into the Atlantic while his partner was sleeping and had to spend 12 hours adrift until he was rescued.

SACRIFICE---movie underway based on the novel set on the Shetland Islands in which a female obstetrician discovers the ancient corpse of a woman whose heart was cut out shortly after giving birth. Radha Mitchell, Rupert Graves and Colm Meany star.

PURGE 2---Zach Gilford said about the sequel, "With the sequel, I thought they had a really great way to do a sequel because the first one took place in an upscale suburb with what happens to a family there when their security system doesn't work. With this one, there's none of the same characters, but it's the same day of the year and it takes place in the city where there are no security systems and it's just like a war zone where people are just trying to survive. So I thought it was pretty interesting to take that concept and to look at it from a different angle.”

ANNABELLE---THE CONJURING spin-off movie underway about the demon doll starring Wade Horton and Annabelle Wallis. A direct sequel to THE CONJURING is also underway.

TALES OF HONOR---movie/tv/comic book/game project underway based on the novel series about Honor Harrington, a genetically-engineered spaceship commander set 200 years in the future.

Didn't this come out a couple years ago? I already own the DVD! Also, will the CW cut the nudity?

Wonder Women-

Wonder (No pun intended) why this subject it so hard to get off the ground? Personally I think DC characters haven't aged well.

Superman being a prime example. We don't live in an ideological world anymore, and grim serious Superman just doesn't work.

Then you have Wonder Women whom is supposed to be what? A feminist that runs around in tights? Just doesn't work. Best way to do a new Wonder Women is to do it light and breezy, a bit sexy, and camp like the television series. Though with much better acting and scripts!

So they're remaking the first half of Skyfall?
