This release is an absolute joy. The events around the "gunfight at the O.K. corral", whether factual or not, have made for great films and great scores. Dimitri Tiomkin's score is perfectly in tune with John Sturges direction. The sound quality didn't bother me. It sounds just fine. A classic.

Well said. I was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality overall, and musically I've enjoyed this soundtrack more with each listen. I don't always love Tiomkin, but GUNFIGHT is among his best IMO.
Great Score by Tiomlin. Wonderful to have the soundtrack with the Frankie Laine vocals. Quite different to the other recordings of this song by Frankie Laine.
We had to wait a long time for this but well worth the wait. The mono sound is just fine.
CD of the Year. I did however make a version for myself with the level of some of the quieter cues/passages raised by a few db. Not sure why some were presented at such low level relative to others. Raising the cues in question doesn't make them noticeably noisier than the others. Anyway, for me its the soundtrack equivalent of Tutankhamun's treasure.
