I agree, it would be a shame if this board had to close down. It has been a pleasant diversion for the most part in many of our lives over the years.I am sure for most it still is.There most be some compromise that can be reach where this board can correct some of it's problems and keep it going. I will repeat as I said before I will be willing to throw money into this board if that is a problem and I would imagine there would be a lot more people on this board who wouldn't mind doing such a thing for the sake of keeping this community going.Even a small amount of money from each one can add up if enough people who use this board at a pretty constant rate would be interested in doing this to relieve some of the burden on MR Kendall. The big question is what exactly is the problem, how can we improve this situation. Because if I am correct it seems that view number is going down on both sides of the board.

I can take the slowness and all that, but the main serious problem is the amount of posts that don't register and don't get bumped to the top. I just clicked randomly on an earlier post which apparently had no replies, and there were a whole string of them. So we're missing a lot of stuff that we don't realise has been posted.

Exactly, that is why I will take no chances and bump it twice to make sure it goes through, It is a shame to spend time on something and it vanishes. So I just remove the second copy if it goes through with the word delete and often fill that in later. Otherwise we are going nowhere.

That's not really what I meant, dan. At least when you put up a reply yourself, you know if it has gone through - even if it means posting two or three times and then deleting. What I was talking about was the old threads that show "no new activity" and so we assume we've read them. Then you click on one at random and see that the "last poster" isn't really the last poster at all, and that there are more replies which we didn't know existed.

But see one of my earlier posts above for more positive comments!

This board is doing something very strange now, when I put in a reply on a thread it takes the reply but the thread does not go to the top of the board WHAT NEXT?

Did you see my original post??

Anybody notice the site has been running much more smoothly lately?

The slowness comes and goes, it seems. I notified the powers-that-be back when the troubles started, so I think I'll refrain from further "nagging". Hopefully, someone is working behind-the-scenes to work things out.
