iTunes is a pain in the ass.

Downloads from amazon is so much easier.

iTunes is a pain in the ass.

Seriously? You click it, and it starts downloading. How can that be hard?

I use iTunes to convert all my music to hard disc (well, it'll be a long time until I'm done). :-)

I have never actually purchased any iTunes titles so far, for two reasons:

For one: I dislike the very idea of purchasing lossy, compressed music files.

For two: The iTunes tagging is terrible and is not in the slightest to my needs. In fact, I find all classical music tagging, be it in Spotify, Amazon, or iTunes shoddy, inconsistent and therefore more or less useless. I have to re-tag everything myself. (Sigh!)

But as far as concerting goes, iTunes does a very good job and is comfortable to use.

LOL. Ive had issues with both iTunes (lately) and Amazon. With Amazon any kind of ad block can reek havoc when trying to download from them. Plus they require an install of a down-loader style software for every download which is a pain to say the least.

iTunes went much smoother until recently. When I tried to re-download iTunes purchased music on my old Mac, I got an error message for every album I tried to download, and now I have incomplete scores in that program.

I manage all of my music through iTunes, and now that they don't do DRM, I purchase any downloads through them as well. I only do that in the case of items unavailable on CD, though, so it's fairly rare. It's very convenient for me to buy the tracks on my phone while I'm out and about, and have them downloaded to my music library when I get home.

I find the Amazon downloader much more intuitive to navigate than iTunes. I prefer being able to buy something through the web site rather than having to load up iTunes to buy. I hadn't bought any music on iTunes until recently when I had to get Hercules by Kantelinen.

He's almost certainly referring to titles previously released on CD by Intrada.

Do the iTunes releases correlate to the titles they've been gradually taking out of print? Is there any indication they're involved in these digital releases?

Certainly not. The specialty labels don't have digital distribution rights.
