Enjoyable score and songs as I felt with nearly all those Muppet films.

I really like Beck's score to the last Muppets film, which sadly didn't get a proper CD release (a promo was leaked which I have a copy of).
Good to see this one getting a release.
Beck is becoming one of my favourite new composers.

Roger on the Intrada board has listed this as Muppets Most Wanted/The Muppets Score, so I think there will be selections from the first movie too!

Nice to see some score getting released from a musical, song-oriented family movie, especially since it's a standalone release. One normally wouldn't expect a discrete score album alongside the song one.

I'm not getting either until I've seen the movie, though... which I plan to do today. smile Hooray!

Wonderful news. It was a shame that Beck's score got little attention on the soundtrack.

Are two Kermits in the movie?

It's Kermit and his criminal Eastern European lookalike (plus or minus one well-placed mole) Konstantine, who sets the caper in action.

I don't remember anything about The Muppets score. The songs were cringe worthy. (Are You a Man or a Muppet. Really?) With an action/spy theme perhaps Most Wanted will be more interesting.

Oh, I thought the songs from The Muppets were lovely, possibly the best overall song set for a Muppet movie since Paul Williams' wonderful songs for the very first, The Muppet Movie, back in '79.

This was by far the best new Muppets song, and it was on the Disney Channel.

I really like "Pictures in My Head" from The Muppets. "Life's a Happy Song" really grew on me. My least favorite of the original songs was probably "Man or Muppet" but it was still pretty good. I didn't care much for the two novelty Muppet covers ("Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Forget You"), which always smack of the cheesy YouTube viral attempts they do, like "Bohemian Rhapsody." I think the collection of songs in The Muppets was the best in the post-Jim-Henson era (never cared too much for the songs in "Christmas Carol" or "Treasure Island," and "From Space" wasn't a musical) and probably on-par with Great Muppet Caper at least.

I'm looking forward to the new movie and soundtrack, although I'm a little leary of musically looking back like they have in these two ("Rainbow Connection" in The Muppets, apparently "Together Again" in Muppets Most Wanted). I see they're still doing the dumb covers ("Moves Like Jagger" and "Macarena") but at least they're not padding out the album with original recordings of pop songs like the last one.

That was fun, apart from the enormous egos of Amy and that bloody pig (I never, EVER liked her. Ever) gatecrashing Teddy's dream.

Very exciting new indeed. This product really feels to me like the fulfillment of the Disney/Intrada partnership promise. I'm sure it's yielded other things before this, but for me this feels like the first product that would not have come along in any form had it not been for this arrangement. Disney doing the soundtrack and Intrada the score. Here's hoping there are more projects like this as things continue!

It seems that Amazon has put up the Muppets Most Wanted score details. However, it seems to be only music from Muppets Most Wanted (it was explained that the Intrada CD will also have some score material from the 2011 Muppets film). However, the running time on the Amazon page is 34:19, which leaves me to assume that the extra content will only be available on disc from Intrada. We'll find out more when Intrada released the album soon.

Here it is!

Walt Disney Records/Intrada co-brand presents dynamic original score CD from Disney's second Muppet movie, directed by James Bobin, featuring ever popular Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Great Gonzo, Rowlf, many others. Lending support for these Muppets Most Wanted are Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, Tina Fey. World tour, jewel heist, Kermit imposter all inspire Christophe Beck to create rapid-fire symphonic soundscape that races with virtuoso orchestral ideas coming from all sides. Chorus adds rich eastern Europe color. Beck balances between high energy, sentimental warmth but gives weight to the former in stunning, crisp recording made by Casey Stone at Sony Scoring Stage. Composer displays masterful flair for retaining coherency of style while hurtling forward at frenetic pace. Highlights are many but deserving spotlight is rousing, aptly-named "What An Action sequence". Terrific "bonus" features Beck's equally rousing orchestral score for initial Disney installment, The Muppets, released in 2011, also directed by James Bobin, starring same beloved characters with support from Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper. Here Beck visits variety of musical styles from wildly symphonic to impressively Vaudeville. As with Muppets Most Wanted, overall tone of music for The Muppets is serious, exciting, giving weight and emotion to famed critters that came from the mind of Jim Henson. Tim Davies conducts. Grab on!
