This one is a real conundrum for me too - LOVED the film, loved the hell out of it, wanted to go right back in the theater and watch it again. Noticed the score, seemed fine in the film, but now, like Juylan's CABIN IN THE WOODS for me, I want the album, even though I know its probably no good. So what do we geeks do in cases like this? Give in and buy or just enjoy the film? Bollocks.....
The movie was surprisingly (though perhaps not with the The Bourne Identity director at the helm) solid. Brutal, sober, inventive, and when it should be, funny. The score is an excellent example of thematic identity tied to the film - you hear the score, you know its Edge Of Tomorrow. The 'combat overture' is brilliant. Excellent choice of sound that can pertain to/conjure the mechanized element as much as the grit, horror, and valour of the situation. Thumbs up to Mr. Beck.
FINALLY saw this movie! Film is excellent, soundtrack is great in the context of the film but I see why some have not been too thrilled with it. Overall, still good stuff I thought.
Looking like there was never an official pressing of this on cd too, correct? All I can find is the CD-R you can get if you order off Amazon. Just double checking...
After rewatching this excellent movie I confirmed my first impressions on the score. it has some good moments and works great in the context of the film but the album drags a bit. Then I decided to try to prepare a playlist with the "highlights" and I found it more listenable than the entire album.

And aswering Ryno's question from 3 yrs ago... I checked my CD and yes, I believe it is a CD-R (no number or barcode in the center of the disc), although the printing on the CD and booklet looks very good (not blured like on some other CD-Rs).

It's out of stock, but was only $25 new, and can be found pretty reasonably second-hand.
