Thanks for the answer, Roger. That seems quite plausible but if so it might've been nice to keep in the main program as on your disc. Oh well if I feel like it that's what iTunes playlists are for.
I'm guessing the rest of the time disparity comes from Intrada including the album version of the love theme, which LLL puts on disc 2 in the album program (with perhaps some other alternates or different takes too) so they don't feel the need to include it on disc 1's main program.
I guess, Yavar, it also provides ammo for having two sets of wings, rather than just one. It's just a pity it's not coming out in SACD. But that's where BR stands in, n'est-ce-pas? I can only imagine the sound on one of those has to be pretty damn good.
i am very satisfied with the intrada version. (have the varese and legacy editions too too ) Is the LP Program edited form the actual soundtrack recording or a rerecording ?
Blue Max - I have the original Stereo LP which I thought sounded great for its time. And I think I have every CD issue of this since. Of course I ordered the new one. The Intrada is great. Is this the most reissued 1960's score ever? Sonic improvements keep happening - but what a gift that one of Jerry's most magnificent scores lives on in this way. And sad that many 1970's/80's score elements have far worse sonic elements remaining. How did Blue Max survive in such a good state?
