I can haz this LP (but I got it free in a giveaway pile).
I think I saved it because it has "Laura", and maybe one other Raksin, but I haven't done a full listen.
Isn't Benny Carter the arranger on most of them?

Is that the one that has Newman's pop version of Moon of Monakoora from Hurricane ? If it is,I sold it with a stack of LP's a long time ago to my regret. I should have transferred it to disc first.
Yes, the LP does have on it Moon of Monakoora.
It also has on the back a photo of Newman conducting a large orchestra.

It's a nice themes LP. I think I like themes and suites more than most fans.
I'm surprised you sold it. Anything with the name Alfred Newman on it is a keeper for me.

Just don't let this happen again, Cody1949, or we'll have to get tough with you!!! There are lots of members of the Pappy Newman Gang and we've caused trouble before when we've wielded our deadly conductor sticks against errant fanboys!!! 
I have this disc somewhere in my collection. I originally found a mono, and then I got a stereo of it as I recall. Most of these selections were well-worked choices by that '60s period of time, but I bought it specifically for the lovely Newman PLEASURE OF HIS COMPANY theme, which I had previously only found on a British-recorded (I believe) RCA Camden compilation album---perhaps in the ubiquitous Living Strings series. That album had a bright pink metallic cover I seem to recall; it's around here somewhere but I'm too lazy to look for it.
Other cues on the Newman/Capitol which were quite rare then were the TAMMY TELL ME TRUE and BACK STREET and PINKY cuts. In those days, when no soundtrack album came out you had to cobble together a few themes on tape for a given film from whatever performances you could find.
Who would have guessed then that 50 years later we'd have the actual and complete and delightful PLEASURE OF HIS COMPANY soundtrack album from Kritzerland???

Once again, Manderley mirrors my memories, and mind, and heart.
I got the LP for Newman jn general and THE PLEASURE OF HIS COMPANY in particular -- still worth the price of admission. And yes, isn't it glorious that Kritzer has now bestowed upon us the complete original tracks!
The whole LP is first class all the way. Newman didn't know how to do any less.

Had a few copies of this LP years ago, sold them off over the years. Pleasant listening with fine melodies, which really is the charm of these old compilation theme LP'S. One might question sometimes the arraignments of these old albums but what always were top notch were the compositions of so many of these themes. Themes you could take with you long after hearing them. On that album I really liked the ones that were rare and could not be found anywhere but from the films. Loved the catchy pretty theme from TAMMY TELL ME TRUE and as mentioned already PLEASURE OF HIS COMPANY.

That's not the problem.
The intros are romantic and lush, and that's nice. It's the cheeseball rhythm beds and schmaltzy strings once the tunes kick in. The opposite of romantic and lush.
I just played the LP, I still like it after all these years.
part of the notes read: ........ " and spiced with gently pulsating modern accents by a forthright rhythm section."
The "beat" is very soft and gentle. This LP was not meant as a faithful rendition of the film themes. This type of record was very popular in the 1950s to maybe the mid 1960s or so. It was gentle mood music. In the 1950s my older brother bought many such LPs. Two themes I loved in the late 50s was John Green's "Body & Soul" and Alex North's "Unchained Melody."
Besides Onyabirri, I'm afraid to dislike it. Manderley, Preston, Dan, Cody will chase me through the countryside shaking torches, pitch forks, rakes and shovels!

Yes, manderley, I still have this Angel LP from 1973. It was one of my first Newman LPs at the end of the 70s.
Side A has the Hollywood Bowl performances of the following tracks:
- Conquest (from CAPTAIN FROM CASTILE)
- 23rd Psalm (from DAVID AND BATHSHEBA)
- Palm Sunday (from THE ROBE)
- Hallelujah (from THE ROBE)
Also "Catana" from CAPTAIN FROM CASTILE from the already mentioned Capitol recording is on side A, although of course it is not performed by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.
Then on side B are these tracks:

- The Moon of Manakoora (from THE HURRICANE)
