Re: A year or two ago while posting something, I erased the text completely, leaving just two quote marks ("") in the post, then pressed the 'post message' button. I got the white page with the blue coloured FSM text error (or whatever the text is) printed at the top centre of the page. Then I noticed the post had disappeared from the thread in which it had been made. Naturally, I thought that was how one deleted a post, even though I had received no explicit instructions about any such method. When I next came to delete a post I tried the same thing, but it didn't work out. And it hasn't since. So I conjectured that my initial successful deletion was some sort of fluke, never to be repeated. I'm afraid that if you open a window hereabouts, it stays that way whatever the weather. But it's so easy to edit our posts, and if we want to delete everything, as already pointed out, you can type in something like "delete" or "dp" and it works. And if it's something you've started yourself and you realize that it was something you probably shouldn't have started, do what I've done: change the title to "delete" and erase most of the original posting, and FSM will probably get rid of it, as they've done for me when I realized immediately that I was starting something that had already been well covered. (I've noticed that some here add something to posts just to pop them back to the top of the heap!)

Again, for me, it turned out to be something that had already been posted, and I've come down on such double and triple and quadruple posters as those routinely made by dan the man and others who have flagrantly started new posts on things already well covered and didn't want to be a hypocrite myself, and noticed that in both cases they seemed to disappear very quickly off the board and NOT just go to page 2 or 3 of previous posts. (And when I went to my profile to check out posts by me, they weren't listed there either -- honest.) But in my case I was able to catch them before anyone else had posted to them, so that may have been a factor in getting them deleted -- don't you think?

What you do is post secret plans to build a nuclear weapon, then contact DHS, and the psot will magically disappear. ;-) Also, you as well. It's a down side, I know.
