The Vikings
The Hound Of The Baskervilles
Jack The Giant Killer
Taras Bulba
Irma La Douce
Tom Jones
What's New Pussycat
A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum
The Charge Of The Light Brigade

I agree that those are all good choices from MGM/UA, although I have no problem with Brannigan, Radio Days, or even Follow That Dream (for Elvis fans). The Secret of Santa Vittoria is another matter.

Maybe MGM/UA has Blu-ray plans of their own for some of the films mentioned above. I think that the Best Picture-winning Tom Jones is most likely for an MGM release. Some additional UA films I'd like to see on Blu-ray:

The Pride and the Passion (from VistaVision elements; the DVD wasn't even anamorphic) ++
Legend of the Lost (like The Vikings, a Technirama film; It's already on Blu-ray in Germany)++
The Unforgiven++
Exodus (available as an expensive Australian import)++
The Alamo+++
Judgment at Nuremberg (the DVD is non-anamorphic)++
A Shot In the Dark
The Satan Bug+
The Hallelujah Trail++
The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming
Hawaii+++
How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying++
Women In Love+++
The Music Lovers+++
Man of La Mancha++
Duck You Sucker+
The Long Goodbye (available in Britain)
The Taking of Pelham 123
Breakheart Pass

And the lost Mister Moses smile

I agree with most of your choices -- see plus signs -

do you think MISTER MOSES is missing because it is no longer PC? The fake Moses(Mitchum) treats the African tribes with a certain prejudice(at least in retrospect). Why else would this fairly innocuous film be "lost". I think that it is on youtube.

I can't imagine that's the reason. I don't recall anything in MISTER MOSES that's any worse than in many of the Tarzan films that are available. One thing I did note: in looking at the copyright records, when the copyright for MISTER MOSES was renewed in 1993, the copyright claimant is listed as Frank Ross Productions (one of the original production companies). But for the 1966 UA-distributed films KHARTOUM and HAWAII, when those copyrights were renewed in 1994, the copyright claimant is listed as M-G-M. So perhaps M-G-M does not control the rights to MISTER MOSES.

You're in luck Bob, Duck You Sucker is due for release from Fox/MGM in June (& I'm sure it'll be better than the botched Italian release). I would have put The Alamo in my list, but I know it needs a ton of restoration which MGM won't do, it's an ongoing scandal!

You are correct; MGM no longer has rights to MISTER MOSES.

CENTENNIAL SUMMER Blu-ray Postponed frown

Twilight Time just posted the following announcement re the CENTENNIAL SUMMER Blu-ray on their Facebook page:

Twilight Time regrets to announce that our planned August 12th release of the Jerome Kern classic musical CENTENNIAL SUMMER on blu-ray has been indefinitely postponed. This is due to ongoing and unresolved rights issues that prevent the film from being made available to home video at this time. It is hoped that one day in the not too distant future this situation will be rectified, but in the meantime we will adjust and revise our schedule accordingly. Along with many of you we are disappointed that the wait for this long out-of-print film will continue for that bit longer?.

When I saw THE FIRM listed in the original posting I thought it was a new release of the movie with Tom Cruise, which I already have on Blu-ray. But then I noticed that it had (2009), so maybe it's that TV series from a few years ago -- from NBC, I think. Forget it, although I liked the star.

Wait ... the TV series, starring Josh Lucas, was from 2012. Here's THE FIRM from 2009:

Football hooligans organize themselves into firms that represent their favorite team.

Director: Nick Love

Writers: Al Ashton (original screenplay), Nick Love (adaptation)

Stars: Paul Anderson, Calum MacNab, Daniel Mays

It looks almost like something that went directly to video. Anyone know anything about it? I can't even find it at Netflix, so I have doubt that it's the above movie about "Football hooligans organize themselves into firms that represent their favorite team," which I think is British.
