Beautiful score and film. My signed LP is one of the most valuable in my collection. I don't seem to remember much music missing from the LP. However, the dialogue excerpts, no matter how brilliant, really ruin the listening experience. Kritzerland released this score coupled with Barry's The whisperers a few years back, without dialogue. I'd check it out! As far as the music goes, the string writing is absolutely gorgeous. Bennett only used the lower register string instruments and fleshed out a score that underlines the bleak and hopeless outcome of Peter Firth's character.
