Nobody has an opinion? In THIS place??

Shirley, I would start with THE LITTLE PRINCESS and HEIDI ("It's the height of punctuality"), particularly for the interplay with actors Arthur Treacher, Mary Nash and Marsh Mae Jones (who plays a good girl and a bad girl equally well). But don't overlook CURLY TOP, OUR LITTLE GIRL or BRIGHT EYES (with great support from Janes Withers and Charles Sellon).

I'll give this list a try. I hope there's good dancing somewhere in them thar films! smile

Thanks, GS.

I haven't seen too many of Temple's films, but it seems to me that if it's dancing you're after, the four films in which Bill "Bojangles" Robinson appeared are probably good bets. And none of the ones mentioned above are on that list. The Robinson films are:

The Little Colonel (1935)
The Littlest Rebel (1935)
Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm (1938)
Just Around the Corner (1938)

Bill Robinson was quoted as saying about Shirley Temple, "The kid might not be a perfect tap dancer, but I want 'em to find me another her age who could learn five of my routines in a week."

I didn't have these lists handy, so I started with LITTLE MISS BROADWAY, since the male co-star would guarantee SOME dancing.

An animal cracker medal of valor to DinB for continually bumping this thread--Shirley just keeps on dyin'-- and finding the inner strength to watch Shirley Temple films (my oh my was she gorgeous in The Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer; did I post that already? I don't care)

Finished the movie and DAMN! That little girl was a pro. I certainly see the appeal, especially when she turned on the waterworks.
