I don't know if “ignored” is the right word. The original albums have never been out of print. The first film's score needs a remaster badly.

I wonder what shape the score elements are in. The CDs (and LPs) don't sound very good (not awful, but a lot of room for improvement), but I wonder if that's a limitation of the recording. I'd love to know this as well.

I just noticed something yesterday that should have been obvious, just staring in my face, yet I missed it. In Rota's score for Fellini's 'Satyricon' (album track 1: 'Vernacchio's Little Theatre'), there, on woodwinds, appear the first seven notes of the Godfather main 'waltz' theme, played repeatedly. Is this generally known, and if so, is it the only, or first instance of this motif that he concocted? 'Always more to learn. P.S My 'Satyricon' as yet is a rough LP transfer I made, since the LP had great sound, and because side 1 is virtually a continuous band, I couldn't for sure say if it's track 2! But it's very early on in the piece.

Its complicated...but I'll make 'em an offer they can't refuse Now listen to me, you smooth-talking son-of-a-bitch! Let me lay it on the line for you and your boss, whoever he is. La-La Land will never get that soundtrack! I don't care how many monkeys, marmosets, macques, baboons or cauccins come out of the woodwork!
