I saw it in the theater, but a few weeks earlier as a sneak preview. My mom, brother and I went to see Three Fugitives with Nick Nolte and Martin Short. Just before it started, the manager came in to announce there was going to be a special sneak preview of a new Tom Hanks movie afterwards, and we were all invited to stay and watch it. After about a ten-minute break following our movie, it started. When it began, I remember fearing it was a horror movie (I was 10 at the time and not into horror yet), but before long the comedy was underway and the whole theater was just rolling in laughter the entire time.
Longest evening I ever spent in a movie theater, but well worth it. One of the funniest movies I've ever seen, and I still laugh as hard watching it today as I did back then. Terrific ensemble with every part perfectly cast. Wish we were getting a Blu-ray Special Edition in the US this year.
