At the library this evening I saw on display, in the just-acquired section, a large book titled The Invisible Art of Film Music. Of course, I checked it out.

This is a new second edition. It's by Laurence E. MacDonald and I see it's available in hardcover and paperback and as a Kindle version.

I've enjoyed what I've read so far, just thumbing through it. In what will be a considerable shock to any who know me, I jumped straight to the ST:TMP critique.

The bibliography includes this sentence: "Because so many film-music articles, including interviews with composers, have appeared in Film Score Monthly, only the most essential ones are cited in this bibliography."
