Nice! I'd love to attend, but there are too many film music events and concerts happening these days -- all of it outside Norway and Scandinavia. And I can't afford it all.

Fortunately, I'm a member at the South Bank Centre so was able to book today. I think public booking opens tomorrow. I'm also seeing Burt Bacharach there in July so it should be a great month smile

So, David Arnold in the summer and Alexandre Desplat in the winter so far this year in the UK, film music concert-wise. Good Good.

And Morricone in December too, don't forget that.

Peter,

Hopefully Bacharach won't cancel on you. He was suppose to perform with the Pacific Symphony a couple weeks back and cancelled due to illness.

I'm thinking I might just have to book a trip to England for the David Arnold concert.

Thanks for the info about Bacharach, James. I hope it's nothing too serious and he is able to continue his live performances.

If you come over for the David Arnold concert, James, you'll be more than welcome. Quite a few of us going, I'm sure there will be a meet up.

Tempted by this - but my "lack of enthusiasm" for Arnold's Bond scores is keeping my interest kind of at bay for now.

Booked as well! This will actually be my first film music concert and I can't think of another composer I'd be more excited to see. David Arnold in London––and what a great lineup of scores. The big, sweeping themes of Dogmen, Stargate, and Independence Day will no doubt be highlights of the night, but I'm particularly excited that they've included The World is Not Enough and Quantum of Solace, two excellent scores that seldom are listed among his more popular titles. Lately I've been thinking that Quantum of Solace may actually be David Arnold's most accomplished James Bond score. Perhaps it was the rawer, less outlandish nature of the film itself that provided the inspiration, but there is a depth of emotion, a sense of desolation, of brokenness, and in the end, of quiet resolve, that makes Quantum of Solace feel richer in its own way than Arnold's previous four contributions to the series, as much as I love them each for their strengths. Anyway, great to see TWINE and QOS on there. Hopefully, Tomorrow Never Dies, Godzilla, or Die Another Day can get worked in as well, and I would just love to hear "No Good About Goodbye" as performed by Arnold for solo piano.

It seems I won't be able to attend this concert. Really bummed.

Is anyone interested in a ticket? The performance seems to be sold out at this point (I think).

Let me know.

Wow! This is only two weeks away now smile
I've got my tickets booked for Book Of Mormon in the West End on the Saturday, before a boozy night out with some old mates in old London town.
Then Sunday and my second encounter with David Arnold, having seen him at Ubeda, Spain some years back.
Then it will be Horner's new concerto in Liverpool in November and then back to the smoke for my Alexandre Desplat debut in December.
Good times! smile
