From: http://thecinemacafe.com/

I have been told these quizzes are way too hard from dozens of people who have seen them on the above site. I would love to get some feedback here from others "in the know". Alternately if anyone cares to answer any of the questions here on this post or care to make comments please feel free to do so. Any feedback would be very helpful. Thanks for looking.

6 DEGREES OF TREASURE TRIVIA: Further hints to question #1 will be provided in the others (#2-#6).

1. Both of the following memorable quotes are from the same film. Can you guess the title?

“The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long and you’ve burned so very, very brightly Roy.”

“All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain.”

2. There is a scene in the above film in which, during his investigation, our central character dons a false nerd-like identity and asks some largely irrelevant questions to a female suspect.

A similarly described scene occurs in a famous film noir of 1946. Can you name the film?

3. The film referred to in question #1 was first released theatrically with a voice over narration. Some time later there was a subsequent version shown without it. In addition, its original ending was shortened.

Can you name the famous science fiction film from 1956 which underwent the same experience?

4. One of the actors appearing in the film referenced in question #1 plays a game of chess. When he was much younger this same actor appeared in a classic film noir directed by a chess aficionado which also happens to contain a scene in which chess is played.

Can you name the actor and the earlier film in which he appeared?

5. There is a climactic scene in film #1 that takes place in an iconic building. This famous building was used over 20 years earlier for an intense showdown toward the end of a noteworthy film.

Can you name the building, it's location (referenced in both films) and the earlier film's title?

6. In it's theatrical release version, Film #1's happy ending utilized outtake footage from the very start of this 1980 horror film. The actor referenced in question #4 also makes a memorable appearance in this film directed by film #4's director.

Can you name this film and the occupation the actor plays here? And finally for the real diehards out there provide the first name of the character he plays.

Very interesting quiz. Yes it is a tough one for even the most knowledgeable film historian. I know the film from 56 they are talking about and the film from 1980, but the main answers I am not aware of yet.

Great quiz. I don't know the answer to the first question, but I may know the answers to some of the other questions. Here goes:

The Big Sleep

The Bradbury Building in Los Angeles. The film was D.O.A.

That's as good as I can do. Thanks for the challenge.

Actually, this is pretty easy if you have some knowledge of Blade Runner, Kubrick, and Joe Turkel.

However, the one question that stumped me was Turkel as the chess-player in the noir film. But the only really obvious answer would be The Killing.

Hey guys,
Thanks so much for the responses. They are most helpful and encouraging.

To dan the man: Interesting that you got the answers to several of the harder questions. I thought #2 and #3 would be the most difficult.

To mgh: I didn't black out those guesses/answers. I don't know if someone else did but I certainly don't mind them being posted here. I'll probably post the answers in a week or so even though it looks like they may be filled in by then.

To riotengine: I'm beginning to agree with you that if one's seen the films, the questions can be fairly easy and if one hasn't they can be very hard. Please note that Turkel played chess in #1's film but only appeared in the film in which chess is played in question #4's movie.

Thanks again

Arthur,
I did the black outs so I wouldn't ruin it for other players.
You can read what is under them by pressing down on your left button and dragging the cursor over them.
