Jaws dealt with the three-echelon buddy system, in which Matt Hooper occupied the lower-most rung, at least from Quint's point of view. Dreyfuss had the line in which he uttered something like, "I'm not gonna take any abuse for much longer," in that under-the-breath, half-mocking way. Of course, it was meant to be funny and it was because he was perpetually having to man up to Quint. The clip momentarily brought that moment home. All three actors fused brilliantly. Dreyfuss is the vet.
