Back by popular demand.... it's World War Three! A welcome return to simpler times when the good guys wore white hats, and the bad guys wore... mustard coloured clothing.

I
Wish I could elaborate more , but I can'T on this board. But in the sixties and seventies ON NOSTRAND AVE AND CHURCH AVE IN NEW YORK, one of God knows how many business's in this country would display their deep radical beliefs on how the American system of democracy has failed the brothers, so come join us. Read the writing on the wall.I know no R AND P HERE, so just as this thread is meant to be innocent but just observing facts of life, I will say no more and do the same thing.

It's just a harmless video of Eduard Khil doing his thing.

No need for anyone to get their gotchies in a bunch with silly threadjacks.

I agree 1976 Russia a singer does his act. but at the same time, this is life. You can't be totally blinded by reality. Sought of like going into Italian neighborhoods and not talking about pizza shops.

It's a little sad what's become of the FSM boards in the last few years. It seems increasingly like a rain shelter for old farts and whackos (frequently one and the same). That wouldn't be so bad if they were witty with it... but not a chance. I remember a guy here called JS Walsh - a pretty disagreeable fellow, IMO, but he had an intellectual agility I sometimes enjoyed. It's a sobering day when you miss the likes of JS Walsh.

Me - Like 90% of my internet activity, I just come here to crack jokes... and keep out of the virtual rain.

I might be wrong but I guess your "What an interesting tidbit....." is the P.C. reaction to That was very popular in certain African American neighborhoods.
Since it is such a bad taste remark.
However "It seems increasingly like a rain shelter for old farts and whackos (frequently one and the same).". Is supposed to be alright? Age is a choice and thus being old can be used in a derogatory fashion without it sounding like a very reprehensible thing?

Don't tell me you are one of those in the audience of "The daily show" or "The Colbert report" feeling oh so virtuous and morally pure when they give a dismissing "ooooh" or a hiss only to laugh hard about ageist remarks.

I understand where you're coming from, Dan, but coming onto this board and enjoying a singer's video in reference to pop culture for its own sake is NOT being blind to (not "by") reality. It's nowhere NEAR the same thing.
And to continually put a political spin on such things is bound to attract the ire of the mods. Then it ends with thread locks which benefit no one.

Yes, and it's also "sort", not "sought". Grade School stuff...

I think I must be going slightly mad because I haven't understood anything anyone has written on this thread. It's like that rather good Twilight Zone ep where the guy wakes up and everyone is talking gibberish.

Even Ed Khil makes more sense to me.

Actually, I find that Ed Khil makes more sense singing phonetic gibberish than Howard Keel did singing perfect English.

"there are simply no words for that... literally" < explained : Ed Khil "la la's" his way through the entire routine (or at least the initial 90 secs I watched)... therefore, no words

O.K., I'll explain mine at least. I thought the funniest (or perhaps the only) joke you made was when you stopped whining about others and said the main reason you come on this board is to crack jokes! That's hilarious,,,(hence my L.O.L. which means Laugh Out Loud).

The thing I find so silly is the sensitivity we have with some board members. SENN 555, can come up with the most blatant triple xxx scenario on the board and it is fine , [while guys like me play it more like sexual innuendo Johnny Carson tactful] but if I just being honest about the world around us some people get mad.The thing I find funny is a few people on this board know where I am coming from and I and others know where they are coming from. So what's wrong, that is life. Being a bit flexible might help. The biggest problem here is not what anybody says it's the people who have to jump on what people say.

Well at least Walsh would express himself clearly and straightforwardly (no coy vagueries for him!) and he didn't seem to harbor any unsavory obsession with black "radicals". I should start an obituary thread for Stuart Hall just to yank our resident J. Edgar Hoover's chain!

"Tact" is not something I would regularly associate with your posts. Your vague, enticing remarks cloaking your controversial opinion has led to you hijacking many a thread. You just can't help yourself at times, it seems.
