I would like to "waste" my money on this score! Thanks for the bringing its release to my attention, I will head over and download it shortly. It doesn't show you disagree about the format, it shows you're not interested. That's what I've always thought. It'd be good to get some input from the labels on this. It's not selling at iTunes, let's bring it on cd!' :-/    Posted:   Aug 9, 2014 - 3:45 AM     By:   Francis   (Member) We've seen a lot of Christopher Young scores go unreleased lately, I'm glad I get to listen to this one and I personally doubt I'm missing out on much listening to it in 256 mp3 than I would on a CD. I'll still buy the CD once one is available, but for now this Itunes version suffices. I've listened to Deliver Us From Evil a couple of times and it definitely has the weird sound design going on like in Sinister, as well as the ambience Young is good at for this type of score. The thematic material is rather downplayed, even in the excellent "The Left Hand Pact" which is my favorite track, it feels reminiscent of Goldenthal's "Lullaby Elegy" from Alien 3 and it even has a nod to my favorite Young score at the 5 minute mark. It has that 'Christ Young' feel in moments and there's the odd flavour of 'Emily Rose' at times but, as has been stated, very ambient and not a big stand out score in my book. Still like a lot of it but I've heard him do so much better. I still find I go back to his wonderful SINISTER score a lot which for many was a hard listen. I find I'm becoming increasingly disappointed with a lot of modern horror scores. Kind of what I expected. I guess this was the first and last time Chris Young scored a Jerry Bruckheimer production. I wonder how director Derrickson managed to sway JB to not go for one of his usual composer choices. It was not until the last scene of the movie that something similar to a theme appeared, a kind of Moby-like anthem I would call it. Other than that it was Young more or less on autopilot.
