The "Dark Shadows" music by Robert Cobert is so endlessly delightful.
Is the 1974 Dan Curtis TV-Movie "Dracula" with Robert Cobert music coming out?
For fans of the TV show "Dark Shadows", hopefully they won't miss the terrific "Dark Shadows: The Revival Series" which reworks many of the original TV show cues.
MR COBERT never failed to delivered good music, sometimes moody as hell, sometimes catchy, sometimes melodic and pretty. Too bad he didn't do a whole bunch of film scores in his career. He was great at it.

Funny you mention this. Varese Vintage is putting this out in May.
I'd like to think many fans would love a more complete "Night Stalker/Strangler" cd (only short suites are available).
There is a suite from Dracula - which the OP is asking about - on the Robert Cobert "Night Stalker" compilation that came out in the 1990s or whenever.

Yes, the "Night Stalker and other classic thrillers" Varese Sarabande CD includes a Cobert Dracula suite.
It also contains the wonderful Zuni Doll music from the Karen Black Dan Curtis TV Movie extravaganza "Trilogy of Terror"!

That was a fun album to put together.
Ford A. Thaxton
I didn't know about that one, thanks. The suite I was referring to is on the Robert Cobert "Night Stalker" compilation CD - forget the label offhand - that had suites from NS, Dracula, Burnt Offerings, and others.

And the two "Dark Shadows" (based on the TV series) feature film scores are out on CD, too.

The ones I've heard - Night Stalker, Night Strangler, Norliss Tapes, Scream of the Wolf - are possibly complete with great sound. I suppose the originals are with the Cobert estate, but it's just a reminder that the music is out there somewhere. I don't know who has the copyright, but I wish some label would release the complete versions. They aren't that long, and certainly better than the Varese sampler cd.
