Mine arrived here in Arizona a scant 3 days after I got the e-mail announcing that it had been dispatched from the UK. Fast delivery!

I have to say the box itself is beautiful work of art. It will look great on the shelves.
I have not had time to process any music except the first disc which has a lot of electronic sound effects/music, but it's quite enjoyable and that seems to be what the scoring was like for the first Doctor. From the booklet notes, I get the impression that with each succeeding Doctor, the music gets, well , more "musical". Some the first Doctor's music is very "Forbidden Planet".
The packaging of the CDs is about what I expected. It would have been nice to have put the track listings on each slipcase instead of just in the booklet. There is a lot of blank space on them so this would not have been a problem. I did expect the booklet to be a bit larger and with more info.
At least half the booklet is track titles and music credits which could easily have fit in all the arty blank space in each CD slipcase.

One technical question someone might know....there seems to be no way to access the battery to replace it if it ever dies. (The switch is a nice touch so it won't run EVERY time you open the doors, but even a battery that is NEVER used discharges eventually.) I may write to the distributor if no one has an answer here.

These are very minor quibbles however. Overall I'm really happy with it. Looking forward to many days of exploring the music.

Have to say I'm just a wee bit disappointed as I think they could have slightly gone the extra mile to put the windows on it better than just having stickers. For the money......you know.
Looking forward to getting into hearing the music and there's no doubt its a nice set that I'm happy to have.

To replace the batteries you need to (carefully!) remove the four blue stickers from the top panel, unscrew the four screws and lift the top off. The 3xAAA batteries can be replaced easily after that.

The sound on my box is a bit... naff. Not sure if it's supposed to sound that bad.

I believe Silva Screen is poised to issue a mailing to address the many problems that people have had with the box.

A real shame because the 11 discs are superb!!

The sound is disappointingly quiet. :-)

I think the boxset is great value.

I do worry that the stickers will begin to peel off as age gets the better of it. This is a shame. My only other negative is that the disc packaging is an arse to get in and out without damaging the booklet. I've already got a dog ear on that.

Otherwise, it's a superb collection of Who music, despite the addition of 3 discs of Nu-Who material that I already own, but at least I knew that in advance.
