Anyone familiar with this release from GDI?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Lost-Continent-Original-Soundtrack/dp/B00004Z3DC/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1395589873&sr=8-9&keywords=lost+continent

Is it any good (sound quality wise)?
Is it legit?

My main interest is the main theme by "The peddlers".

Maybe an old hat to the community here but I hadn't heard of "The lost continent" until I saw this hilarious review

I have it, and it's legit. As for sound quality, it wasn't the best sounding GDI Hammer release, but neither was it the worst. I give it a 6 on a 1-10 scale for mono soundtracks. I play this one a lot, actually; a really good, sophisticated score for a bizarre, kooky film. Strangely, the alternate takes of the theme song from the "bonus" tracks sound a lot better than the one used for track 2, though the vocalist's different approaches are kind of weird.

The sample of the theme song you posted above is one of the better-sounding alternate takes on the CD.

It's a fine score, although admittedly somewhat cramped in the sound department. Nonetheless, Schurmann's music shines. It might be a bit hard going for Peddlars fans though! The score itself is often harshly dissonant, but I find it quite compelling in its crash-bang complexity. It's not too dissimilar to the work of say Tristram Cary or Benjamin Frankel - there's a kind of "British concert hall" feel to it. In fact, Schurmann later reworked some ideas into his classical piece "Six Sketches of Francis Bacon."

Thanks both for you reply.

Ah now that is good information and it makes me hesitant of buying it as I am definitely not a fan of loud/ harsh dissonant music. I find the Hammer "Mummy" music heavy already.
I check the film on Youtube first and if the music doesn't jump to much I might wager a bet on the soundtrack.

Possibly the worst HAMMER film ever made. Glad SAINT PETE and WISE CHRIS didn't get stuck in this junk.

If you just want the song it's on the Peddlers' CD " How Cool is Cool " available at Amazon, you can purchase the mp3 version from Amazon, as well.
