Just listened to Powell's Just Visiting soundtrack. All I have to say is that if you are a fan of his work, then you will love this one. It's very much in his style, with fun bombast mixed with some beauty as well. It has a short running time of 36 minutes, and some of the tracks are quite short (like 21 seconds!), but it is one of those scores that is fun to listen to. If you can find it for a decent price, I highly recommend it.
As remakes go, this is an enjoyable film. The score is on my list, but I haven't managed to find it, hopefully one day. One of the highlights in the film for me, is the chase in Chicago. I'm interested in seeing seen the original French version and the sequel. I hear there's plans for a third film in the Les Visiteurs film series.
I happened upon a few tracks from this score on an old compilation disc someone did for me many moons ago. Although it sounds awful, with lots of really bad samples trying to emulate full orchestra, it's astonishing now to hear - all these years later - the Powell voice coming through loud and clear. You can really tell, despite it's limitations, his unique sound and style from the music. I wouldn't want to hear the whole CD, but it was fun listening to something that sounded quite unremarkable at the time, but is now so obviously borne of its author.
Wow, this guy supposed to be an experienced seller, however he doesn't even mention the composer and the audio format in the header also the Thumbnail picture is a joke. And the price is absurd i think no one is going to pay this much nowadays for a cd. Unless it's an original one of a kind demo cd from Michael Jackson of course.
