They did it once before, and they're going to repeat it once again. Ford is putting their iconic Mustang on the top of The Empire State Building. It's for the upcoming New York Auto Show, so if you're around midtown, you may want to hustle up and see the car on The Observation Deck. (For someone who worked up here for 10 years, I find it absolutely amazing!)

Wow, they can take it up the elevator in pieces?! Thanks Gods no one got the insane idea of trying to lower the thing up there via helicopter.

In my opinion, this video here from the Red Bull Racing F1 team is by far the best "car on top of skyscraper" stunt that I've seen:

No camera tricks or anything- they really did this. There's also a really cool "making of" video (you can see it in the related YouTube videos).

Imagine the big oops, if the driver accidentally took his foot off the brake pedal?

It's been so long since I've seen Monte-Dave post, that I think his screen name should be changed to "avec la participacion excepcional de Montana Dave", just like when Catherine Deneuve does a film! smile

Whenever I see someone in a Mustang now they are at least a middle aged person, and usually much older - and more often women than men. Whatever it once was, that is over now.

Yeah, I know people love the car.

Women probably got the car in the divorce settlement.

Yeah, probably true, and they look like they never really you know DRIVE it, like fast. I never understood people that buy sports cars and drive it like an old Buick.
