Not sure if this is for real or not, but I went ahead and ordered Spartacus, The Red Pony, and Chinatown - been meaning to buy these for a while.

There's no way this is real. Varese would have announced if Spartacus was about to go OOP.

I don't see the usual low quantity indicators against half of these titles. That said, I recently purchased "The Hallelujah Trail" and it subsequently disappeared from the site completely.

Thanks for the heads up. I need to get Star Trek Nemesis. Not really a big fan of the later film scores, but would like to add it to my Trek collection.

Not clear what you mean here. Chinatown for example is still $19.98. What's the significance of the numbers?

I did a check with the cart thing we do & I got these numbers. I was looking to see how many The List Of Adrian Messenger was doing so I went to town on a few others & this is what I got. Check for yourselves . I was just trying to help.

I'm not sure that having more than seven hundred copies of anything is reason enough to issue an alert.

It's worth remembering, too, that, even if Varese do sell out, there may be significant stock held by their European distributor, Colosseum.

Perhaps when the Spartacus box set sells out we'll finally get the slimmed-down, more affordable edition that many collectors have been crying out for?

These numbers are probably more related to how many copies are in stock instead of the entire run... No way has Varese sold 4980 copies of Spartacus.

Howdy fellow score friends!

These numbers only reflect what is actually IN the office of The Bande aka. Varese Sarabande Records. Unless they post under a title, FEWER THAN...please disregard these figures. This is ONLY what is actually in our office. smile We would never let something like Adrian get below 200 and not tell all of you.

OK back to work for me.

Enjoy the groovy tunes!

This subject should be closed outright. The rep from Varese already stated that the figures ONLY represent IN-STOCK quantity. There is no way, SPARTACUS, with a run of 5,000 copes is down to a mere 12, AND Varese woill always give people a heads up.

CASE CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RM Eastman is just being a funny funny funny guy smile

Plenty of copies to go around and yes we have plenty of Spartacus to go around.
Now if I could only manage to get Kirk Douglas to sign my copy, I'd be in heaven!

Good to know. If there's one thing I don't need, vis-a-vis ADRIAN MESSENGER and FAMILY PLOT, it's some Chicken Little running around screaming that the sky is falling.

So, can someone tell me the POINT of this thread? Clearly if someone at Varese has said it's only for in-house stock, then why is this called a low-quantity alert, as if people who've been waiting need to act IMMEDIATELY? Disingenuous at best.

And no, I know the Spartacus numbers and not only is it not in danger of selling out, it will NEVER sell out.

Well, not unless they dramatically reduce the price, perhaps!

Boy, I wish I'd scanned all the way to the bottom and read this before I panicked and bought four hundred copies of each of these CDs.
