They are issued ! Oddly, I didn't have the GDM CDs from 2002.

Since it is my very first liner notes (contrary to Laurent, but the first time for him for a Morricone's CD) , I am very happy and honored to have been associated officially to a CD with a Morricone's music. I dreamed about that and it was more easy to achieve with a French label of course.
The texts were written in French, and then translated by someone else in English.
It find it logical that French people wrote about these very French films from a very successful period of actor Belmondo.

Yes, Le marginal is now complete. The project could have reproduce the content of the GDM CD from 2002, prepared by Patrick Ehresmann and Claudio Fuiano, since it was alraedy well filled with bonus tracks (better than the LP's ones, I think !). But it was accepted to add a last variant published in the DRG 2 CD set Belmondo-Morricone and the edit track.
As for Le professionnel, the content is the same but the order is modified a little. But don't worry, it is complete, nothing can be added (confirmed by a sure source of information). At the contrary, the 2 alien tracks "Fata Morgana", put by General music only to fill the original LP, has been removed.

The fact that various collectionnists and non Morricone die-hard persons are enthusiastic is a good satisfaction.
My special congratulations to "Avise § consent" for his French : it is quite rare to see an English-speaking mastering French, while we do have to write in English here and there to understand each other.

Patrick

Congrats, Patrick and well done! Looking very much forward to hearing these two OSTs and reading your liner notes for LE MARGINAL.

You guys are the best!

Congratulations to MUSIC BOX RECORDS from me as well! I have always regarded LE PROFESSIONNEL and LE MARGINAL as some kind of soundtrack twins, so it's fitting that you re-release them as a couple and I can only repeat what others said: These were surely long awaited for a re-issue by many. I think these two embody Morricone's 1980s style at its catchiest and best.

Thank you as well for going back to the original LP artwork for LE PROFESSIONNEL.smile It's nice to finally have at least some brief liner notes for these two titles. I hope these focus on the music and don't dwell too much on the movies (we better not remember the latter too much razz).

Just picked up a copy of both from Moviemusic. Missed the announcement somehow, seems I might have got in just in time.

It seems that both LE PROFESSIONNEL and LE MARGINAL (currently not on stock) are coming back at MBR at 26 May: http://www.musicbox-records.com/en/cd-catalog/217-le-professionnel.html
Don't know whether this is just more stock counting towards the original 500 or a second edition.
