When La-La Land posted a link to the new Batman Beyond short on their face book page the other day, I think a few fans may have momentarily got their hopes up that the BB scores were being released. With that in mind, which scores from the show do people want to see released? LLL may well release some of its music after they're done with Batman and Superman, and before/after they get to Justice League. Some that I'd like to own would be:

Earth Mover
Meltdown (without the choir that was strangely inserted on the Rhino release)
Shriek
Hooked Up
Blood Sport
The Call parts 1 & 2
King's Ransom
Out of the Past
Black Out
Dead Man's Hand
Ascension
Mind Games
Sneak Peek

Here's the short film:

Kind of neat, until the end.

I'm pretty sure the choir is in the episode - its where Mr Freeze "gives in" and finally decides to die, right? I'll double check tonight.

That's the scene, but I don't recall hearing the choir from the Rhino release at that part.

Rats and Eyewitness might also be worth checking out for La-La Land if they're giving Batman Beyond some thought.

I'm fairly sure LLL has this show on their radar but they're busy working on Batman and Superman stuff first. They could definitely bang out four discs of music from this program, which would be great to have finally.

Thanks for posting that fun flashback video. It recreates the tone and animation style of the original remarkably well. I like the different incarnations of the Batman look at the end as a celebration of the 75th anniversary. LLL did likely post the short out of their love for all things DC animated (and particularly Batman) and not necessarily as an indication that a Batman Beyond set is coming anytime soon.

The music of Batman Beyond is definitely high on my grails list, however. The oftentimes atmosphere-rich synthesizer-rock music was as perfect for Batman Beyond's cyberpunk near-future Gotham as the more classic orchestral approach was for B:TAS. I would have to revisit the show to identify particular favorite episode scores, but off the top of my head I definitely concur that the music of "Meltdown" is a standout.

Hopefully this comes from LLL at some point. I'm an ardent fan of B:TAS and believe it to be the best version of the Bat hands down, but I've also been blissfully enjoying their Brave and the Bold release (Volume 2 please).

So, yeah, BB.

Batman Beyond...the point the DCAU scores started to suck (although at least the scores were better than the all-synth Justice League).

I don't know... I did love the first theme for Justice League until I heard Twins Of Evil. No complaints about Justice League Unlimited.

There was also another new short Batman, this time by Timm:

I've got both Rhino BB and BB: Return of theJoker and would buy for sure a LLL archival edition

Yep, an expanded version of Return of the Joker would be great!
