Anyone received theirs yet? I know they started shipping on Tuesday & Wednesday. My order status still says "ships within 2-3 days" but I know often La La will go ahead and ship but not update the order status until well after they've already mailed the item.

I pretty much ordered my copy of Peacemaker right when they became available, a few minutes after the hour they were released. My order number is 84002. Anyone else with an order number near that receive theirs yet? Hoping to receive mine before the long Memorial Day weekend! So excited!

As for the placing the cues into "suites" makes for a better musical listen !? No. If you place several short cues into one long track, it will still be just that; one long track consisting of several short cues...

They can shape the short cues into something much longer - as mentioned above, John Williams' albums are a great example of this. I'd rather have an album of 15 tracks with crossfades and edits, than an album of 45 tracks with clean openings and clean endings. At best, it's a bit annoying; at its worst, unlistenable.

I agree, just vice versa wink

Besides, isn't this what the original album was/is for ?! ... the entire old album is even included on the new release, for those who prefer that.

It is probably possible to put together a more "suite"-like album even with the (close to) full score, but in most cases, to get a good result, some kind of compromises has to be made; not include some bits and pieces here and there (like the last 30 seconds on a cue to make it fit into the next. Sometimes, which is also the case with some of Zimmer's old albums, layers in the mix itself have been removed/changed to accomplish this. But this is of course not so easy, if what is available, or exist, is a finished stereo mix. Or something). And/or perhaps put together cues from different places in the film, which fits more together, and stuff like that.

It will hardly ever be a very good result if you decide to both keep the full cues, in film order, and at the same time combine the cues. In most cases choose one or the other, but not both. Certainly not do it with every single short cue. Or, if it's an option, if space on the disc(s) permits it, offer a(n) (new) alternate version (in a more 'suite'-like form) of the score as well. But I guess this applies more to a score never before released. Although in these cases, what is being offered, is more of a suite-like album anyway.

Mine still say "Will ship in 2-3 days". I hope it's a bug or just lack of update.

Oh, I'm not talking specifically about Peacemaker, which I don't have any pressing desire to own in OST or expanded form - I just meant as a general rule smile

When I place an LLL order on a Tuesday, my notices always say that long after the item ships - and then I receive them across the country on Friday or Saturday. I'm anticipating the same with the Batman release today or tomorrow

Very, VERY happy La-La Land released The Peacemaker. My copy came in the mail yesterday and I absolutely love it.

As for the suites... I am a fan of the way Zimmer puts his albums together. They tend to flow very well (with the exception of Chase which has a few rough crossfades). But I think the tracks that are combined for this complete version of The Peacemaker don't flow together as well and could've actually been presented separated. A few of the combined tracks are perfectly fine (like the first track on the album) but most probably could've been broken apart.

But am I going to hate the release for this? Nope. Absolutely not. It's just personal preference and doesn't even come close to destroying the release for me. It's a beautiful release and I'm glad it's finally seen the light of day. I'm happy the film version of "Get Me Authorized" is here along with Harry Gregson-Williams' music from the trailer. It's truly a great action score that I'm happy to finally own after 17 years haha... And La-La Land (and everyone there) has once again done a fantastic job.

Finally have my copy and am thoroughly enjoying it! Really glad the score is able to breathe in this expanded presentation and all action cues which previously made up the "Chase" track have been spread around in order.
