What a catchy tune! Dimitri Tiomkin composed the score for the 1967 John Wayne/Kirk Douglas western THE WAR WAGON. A centerpiece of the score is the song, "The Ballad of The War Wagon" with lyrics by Ned Washington sung in the movie by Ed Ames.
Singer Stephen Van Dorn gives a spirited performance made all the more amazing by the reality that he is sight reading the dang thing. Adding support are Rena Strober and Cassandra Nuss. Mike Farrell is on piano.
