And I thought Talgorn really wrote like John Williams!!! If someone had put this on for me and said 'check this out, new Williams score to The Patriot 2' I would not have batted an eyelid. They also would not have left the room with it! I always thought if Spielberg, in the utter world-ending scenario of Williams being unable to score his film, wanted to keep his musical soundscape intact, he should hire Talgorn, but now Kaska would be just as appropriate. It's quite amazing how similar it sounds to the style of John Williams, but not in that Debney/McNeely way of outright rips or steals. More just singing in the same key. It is also bloody great. Everything RM says above. Bold, thematic, fully orchestral, well-developed with some lovely choir moments. It is VERY like The Patriot at times (to my ears at least), but that's no bad thing for me, cos I love that score too. Add Kaska to that list of really talented composers NOT scoring any bigger listed films these days (Broughton, Holdridge, Eidelman, David Newman, A B Rubinstein, Robert Folk et al).

Just discovered this score, and I must say it is really fantastic. Kaska is an incredible talent. I wish more of his classical pieces would be recorded (especially The Wizard of Menlo Park).
