No, this is not a thread about hot women or hot men for that matter. It is about buying that item when you see it lest you lose it. A week or two ago I saw at least 3 copies of October Sky on Amazon for less than $30.00. All were said to be in very good shape etc... Well, I decided I would wait and take my chances this week. Guess what? They are GONE! I lose. I blew it. Anyway, just sharing my lesson learned with others. Aye! Take it from Lee Marvin at 3:12 http://youtu.be/-OCOsHS2sQc?t=2m52s

Unfamiliar with the soundtrack, at first I thought you were talking about "October Sky" the movie, but found many cheap copies at Amazon, some even for a penny plus shipping. But then I realized that since this was under General Discussion you were referring to the soundtrack, and you are right -- it ain't cheap! Although I've long had the movie on DVD, I have no memories of the music, and can only think of one soundtrack of Isham that I bought, and it wasn't a favorite. But I did like his music for "42," a movie I've grown to love and may eventually buy on Blu-ray. Immediate follow-up: I just went to SAE to see if I could find the CD of Isham that I have, and the only one that I recognized was the "Film Music -- Mark Isham," although I also have a couple of his cues on the VS 25th Anniversary Celebration set. But I was surprised at the number of films he's scored that I've liked, including "Quiz Show" and "A River Runs Through It," both directed by Robert Redford.

I recommend it highly. Try "Nell" and "At First Sight" as well.

Yep, I learned the hard way, too. I balked at paying $40-50 for the LOTR CRs a few years ago, and then by the time I actually got into the scores enough to want them, and did the math to find out exactly how much per CD I was paying…FOTR had gone up, and TTT was out-of-print and outrageously high (ROTK was still $50). Since then, I've now bought both FOTR and ROTK, and the latter seems to be out of print now and is going for over 3x what I paid, new. You better believe that if/when they do a CR of the Hobbit films, I'll be pouncing on them immediately.
