BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN---Warner Bros. announced the official title for the sequel is BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE and released the official logo.
FRANK MILLER'S SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR---Jessica Alba is on the cover of ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY and said about her character, stripper Nancy Callahan, in the sequel, "She was more naive in the first film. Ignorance was bliss/ In this one there's no bliss and no ignorance. I wanted her to transition from being a victim to being someone who’s in control of her own story...Sex is absolutely what helps sell this movie, which is fine by me."
DC COMICS---writer David Goyer (THE DARK KNIGHT, MAN OF STEEL) said at a superheroes screenwriters conference that he disapproves of a Martian Manhunter movie, "How many people in the audience have heard of Martian Manhunter? How many people that raised their hands have ever been laid?
Well, he hasn't been rebooted but he's a mainstay in the Justice League. He can't be f**king called the Martian Manhunter because that's goofy. He can be called Manhunter... The whole deal with Martian Manhunter is he's an alien living amongst us..."
He also had comments about a She-Hulk movie, "...most of the people reading comic books were these people like me who were just these little kids getting the sh*t kicked out of them every day... And so then they created She-Hulk, right? Who was still smart... I think She-Hulk is the chick that you could f**k if you were Hulk, you know what I'm saying? ... She-Hulk was the extension of the male power fantasy."
BITTEN---Canada's Space has renewed the Laura Vandervoort werewolf series for Season 2. It was not announced when Season 2 will air on Syfy.
THE REFUGEES---new BBC Worldwide sci fi series underway starring Natalia Tena (GAME OF THRONES, HARRY POTTER) in which millions of refugees from the future travel back in time to the present and how it affects a small rural community.
BLACK MASS---Benedict Cumberbatch has replaced Guy Pearce in the role of Billy Bulger, the brother of mobster Whitey Bulger played by Johnny Depp. Adam Scott (PARKS AND RECREATION) will play FBI Agent Robert Fitzpatrick.
X-MEN: THE LAST STAND---writer Simon Kinberg commented on the movie, "I regret that the Dark Phoenix story wasn’t the primary story of the movie. I would have fought harder for the Dark Phoenix. Listen, I think if we made that movie today, there are a lot of things that would be different."
TERMINATOR: GENESIS---JK Simmons (SPIDER-MAN, LAW & ORDER) commented on the movie, "This, I think, is a reimagining. They don't want to call it a sequel or a reboot. It's the world that James Cameron created with Arnold [Schwarzenegger]. All the leading characters are characters who have existed in that world – the character I play is new to it."
THE DEVIL'S ROOMING HOUSE---movie underway based on the book about 1911 serial killer Amy Archer-Gilligan who killed her two husbands and up to 60 patients with arsenic-laced lemonade in the family rooming house. She was the inspiration for the Broadway play/movie ARSENIC AND OLD LACE.
V-WARS---tv series underway based on the comic book about a global vampire plague caused by a prehistoric virus. Tim Schlattmann (DEXTER, SMALLVILLE) will write the pilot and is executive producer.
CRAWLSPACE---movie about a banker and his family who movie into a foreclosed home and discover its previous deranged owner is living in the crawlspace. Steven Weber, Lori Loughlin, Jonathan Silverman and Raleigh Holmes star. Josh Stolberg (PIRHANA 3D) is the director.
MARVEL STUDIOS---Eden Sher (MIDDLE) tweeted, "Went to Marvel offices at noon for a "15 minute meeting." 3 hrs and 80 lbs of issues later, here I am paralyzed from excitement." Speculation is she may appear on AGENT CARTER or MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. or possibly Netflix's JESSICA JONES.
HELL'S ANGELS---movie underway based on the biker gang and the 1960s counter-culture. Rob Weiss (ENTOURAGE) is the director/co-writer.
BEYOND SKYLINE---the sequel to the low-budget sci fi movie SKYLINE is underway with writer/producer Liam O'Donnell returning as director.
THE WELL---post-apocalyptic movie in which Earth's fresh water has run out, and a teenage girl battles an evil water corporation and its water baron owner.

Cue whining about her playing a stripper who doesn't strip, being hypocritical etc etc...

You could say something similar about Thor - it's a character that had never been adapted to major media, from a fantasy realm, the average moviegoer hadn't heard of him, he's a meathead god with a flying hammer, kind of goofy. Thor, Thor 2, The Avengers have made tons of money. If you make a good movie around it, the audience will come. It's a gamble that worked with Thor; it may well work with Guardians of the Galaxy; it could work for Martian Manhunter.
BTW, Martian Manhunter was a lead in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, which at least makes him a known value for a large amount of people 18-35. He had guest roles in more recent series like The Batman, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and Young Justice. In JL and JLU, they never called him by his "superhero name," and only called him by his given name. If the name is Goyer's problem, it's an easy one to solve.
It's also terribly dismissive of people that read comic books using hoary old cliches (never been laid? did he ask if they live in their parents' basements too?). You'd think somebody whose bread and butter has been comic book movies would be more understanding/respectful of the source material. He's written tons of them - not just Batman and Superman, but also a vampire that hunts vampires, and a guy on a motorcycle with a flaming skull for a head.
I won't even bother getting started on the She Hulk stuff. That's getting me REALLY angry - and you wouldn't want to see me when I'm angry.

Well then, Terminator: Genesis sounds like a worse disaster the more I hear. Why a "reimagining"? (Which is nothing but code for "starting over, but we won't call it that".)
Whether or not you liked Terminator 3 or Salvation, there's no point in re-casting Sarah and Kyle and going back to 1984. Again.
There were threads set up in the last two that were interesting, despite the underwhelming effect those two had. There was the setup for John being killed in the future, which could have led to an interesting close for the series in the way of Connor fooling Skynet into thinking its mission was accomplished and striking the final blow against it.
There was also the set up for the bizarre dynamic between Kyle and John in which Kyle sees John as a father figure in a tragic twist that only further hurts Connor as time moves on. Let us also not forget when John has to knowingly send his father to his death, all the while feeding him the notion that there's "no fate".
We were on the cusp of some great developments in the series, both in terms of character and story. Instead, it's yet another reboot, I mean "reimagining".
For the record, I detest Terminator 3 and thought Salvation was far better than I feared it might be. The story with Marcus worked. Bale was miscast as Connor, but nothing beats the cast of T3 for misfires. Jesus.
