I have a question about this great Jerry Goldsmith score: It seems that some recording sessions are lost. The Up Art and Silva are great. But missing music. I wrote friends, search. I hope for a rerecording.

The word is the complete recorded score exists, so an expanded reissue is feasible. Varese Sarabande announced their own release of Goldsmith's score around 10-12 years ago, but it never materialized. No idea why. Assuming the the Silva CD's liner notes are accurate, the written conductor's score and parts got lost, so a rerecording would be a considerable undertaking (though David Newman has made a partial transcription of it, and conducted it in concert).
From what I understand, Newman conducted a cue that is not heard in the film or on any of the soundtracks, "Hall of Columns." At least I think that is the name of the cue ... it's the scene when Oona the faerie is flitting about in Darkness's lair.
There are what sound like re-done inserts in parts of the finished film, in "The Freeze," "The Unicorns." Also I seem to remember a totally unreleased cue at the end of the movie, when Lily wakes up in the forest and Jack and she are talking.
Also I think there is a cue for the faerie fight between one of the dwarfish creatures and Blix the goblin, "Frying Pan."
The existing Silva CD is pretty darned good, and it's held up nicely for many years. But I wouldn't mind a new version!
