Ok I WILL- GODZILLA to be honest has over my lifetime given me some hours of pleasure in so many ways. For anyone who grew up in NEW YORK in the 60's and 70's back when there was only really 6 commercial stations on the uhf dial it was often a challenge not to see him or at least notice by TV listings in the TV guide or the newspapers. I was a little kid when WOR- TV- CHANNEL 9 in NEW YORK showed the 54 version often. I can' t remember the first time I saw the film but I remember the tense nature of the film, With Raymond burr, reporting as the creature came closer and closer until, he said THIS IS IT, signing off, The next scene with that incredible music score which was so touching and melancholy work wonders on me as it showed all the victims dying, Then the triangle love story, where the hero kills the big g, giving his own life up, telling his love, be happy. Broke me up as a kid and to this very day. The last scene where MR BURR says The world can wake up and live again. Between the tragedy of the disaster and the man heartbroken in the love affair, it was just too much. The last 20 minutes of the film is just superb. I remember watching it holding my beloved pet cat one day, a cat I was to lose a few weeks later. That I will never forget- more to come.

KING KONG VS GODZILLA-1962- THE MUSIC SCORE HAD CUES FROM Universal films of the past, that was also later used in DRACULA VS FRANKENSTEIN.

While on the other side of the spectrum from the serious first one, I always enjoyed that cute but a bit nasty short GODZILLA VS BAMBI. Saw it a few times in the theatres.

I once had an interesting experience of seeing KING KONG VS GODZILLA-62 in a 42nd street theatre in New York city on a double bill with GODZILLA VS MEGALON in the mid seventies. Going to see a movie on 42 street and the viewers who go there was always a very interesting experience. quite different from seeing a film anywhere else. There is a bit of sarcastic irony and down to earth responses to what these people see on screen. I never seen a audience enjoy a movie so much as this one.

In America naturally each Godzilla film got different types of theatrical exposure. GODZILLA'S REVENGE got book as matinee showings in New York theatres in 71.GODZILLA VS THE SMOG MONSTER got book by AIP on a double bill with FROGS in the summer of 72.GODZILLA VS MEGALON-got a single feature booking in the summer of 75.GODZILLA VS THE COSMIC MONSTER also got booked as a single feature in 77 . However GODZILLA ON MONSTER ISLAND got a very limited release , in New York only for a few days on 42 street. That was it for the theatrical market until NEW WORLD gave a nice release stateside for GODZILLA, 84 with Raymond Burr.

Buysoundtrax apparently has the 1954 Godzilla 60th anniversary soundtrack by Akira Ifukube. I thought it was out of print.

The La-La Land release is indeed out of print. The version up for sale at Buysoundtrax would appear to be the Harkit CD from 2014, which from what I've read is just the LLL CD repressed for the European market, under the aegis of local copyright laws that put the recording in the "public domain." I don't have the Harkit release, so I don't know that any permissions were sought or given, or attributions made. In his comments for www.godzillamonstermusic.com, David Hirsch, who assembled the LLL release, notes the "lack of proper copyrights or credits." But this is Harkit, after all, and their business practices should come as no surprise to regular readers of this board.

EDIT: I see that I am replying to a post from last June! At any rate, the answer still applies.

So does this mean 50 SHADES OF GODZILLA would do Billion-dollar box office?

I wonder if Christian watches Godzilla movies when he's not whipping his lady?
