It started with the Legends Of The Guardians CD, which I bought for the David Hirschfelder score, but also quite liked the pop song that opened the CD by Owl City.
Then I liked their song from The Croods CD (written by Silvestri and Ballard) and also the one on the Wreck It Ralph CD. 3 for 3.
I saw a full CD of their songs (Ocean Eyes) in one of those £1 shops of all places and figured 'what the hey, it's only a quid' and it's been playing in my car for the past two weeks.
It's a real happy sound of summer.
Okay, it's very Daft Punk meets The Buggles, with added auto tune, but the songs are catchy, simple and fun and sometimes that just fits the mood perfectly.
I looked them up on wikipidea and it seems it's just one guy who did a Bieber (sold himself on one of those social media sites) but this guy does seem to be the opposite of Bieber (some talent, not arrogant or up himself so much) so that's nice.
Anyone else want to confess?
C'mon, you can do it. It's easy.
(stands up) My Name Is Kevin McGann and I like Owl City smile

Kev I like Owl City, have all the Cd's and I went to his show in Austin a couple years ago.
He is a very down to earth and nice guy.

Hey, no shame there. I had the same first exposure on Legend of the Guardians. It was OK, but what really got me interested was hearing the song 'Silhouette' during an influential part of my life. Since then, I've eventually gotten all of his albums. He definitely has talent, and obviously loves what he does. The songs are just fun and catchy most of the time, but it's the one with the emotional hooks that really get me. Unfortunately, his latest album (The Midsummer Station) sounds a lot more generic and mainstream and doesn't have as much of his own voice. Thankfully, the Midsummer Station Acoustic EP has some of the same songs arranged differently and has a much more Adam Young feel to it.
Anyway, so I'm David and I enjoy Owl City too.

I had no idea what Owl City was before I opened this thread.

I have THE CROODS soundtrack, so I guess I'll have to re-listen to the song again.

I absolutely love that " Its always a good time" song . What a fun, catchy, addictive pop song. Splendid fun.

(Actually, from what I remember of my youngest playing their stuff repeatedly for a few months the other year, it's quite listenable)
