Three releases: Arrow, Continuum, and Haven do not have the music played in the title and the credits. You can kind of find parts of it in tracks if at all. The theme if you will. In the case of Haven its a different composer but still wouldn't you think the theme would be released on the same album?
So I pose this question is this a growing trend not to release the theme from shows but release the rest of the music? And why?

I think it's ridiculous. Nothing more disappointing than the theme being missed off. Two recent examples are of course the first Hobbit soundtrack and the latest Doctor Who releases.

So what if Shore didn't compose the piece? He didn't write the songs by Enya and the others who contributed songs for the Rings trilogy but they're included on the albums.

And despite it being the first time (imho of course) Murray Gold's dropped the ball with his most recent version of the Ron Grainer classic, it's on the most recent episodes and should be on one of the last cds.

Agree. It's a disturbing trend that makes no sense. It's not like there offering theme anywhere.

Much like when bond album casino royale didn't have Chris Cornell's song.

When I saw the thread title, I thought "Themeless" was a label and we were talking about their releases.
