I do have the Donnie Brasco CD - and really enjoyed the film - but it's a CD I haven't played that much (twice tops, maybe). I suppose it's the polar opposite of something like Carlito's Way, which is fast and furious and openly dramatic (typical for a DePalma score) while Donnie is quiet and subtle and understated. I will have to pay it another visit with my ears adjusted. I love it in the film, but really the only cues I listen to are the Main Title (the last track is basically the MT, right?) and the music for Pacino's face on the boat, after he's been shit on yet again.

It's well worth to play the entire CD when one is in a more reflective mood. Many Doyle score are no-brakes ravishing drama and swirling emotions (like the over-the-top FRANKENSTEINn, or DEAD AGAIN), indeed, DONNIE BRASCO is more introspective, particularly for Doyle. It is an excellent movie, too.

Which reminds me: I should really get Doyle's score for CARLITO'S WAY. I like that De Palma movie a lot, too, and Doyle's score is excellent, I just never picked it up.
