Where did this originate? Or more to the point, who misspelled "Ecstasy"?

This is called a game to try and move some CDs. It is not peculiar to Varese smile

Answers: me ... and ... me. smile

This originated in my head this a.m. when I was looking at Varese's CD club titles.

The keypunch error is mine, too.

However, I'm not affiliated with any label and I've posted before about similar low stocks of FSM titles by Kaper and Goldsmith.

I also created a thread inviting members to post their favo(u)rite Digitmovies albums.

My thoughts are focused onto (attempting to) accumulate interest amongst 20 somethings and 30 somethings in the areas of monaural and/or vintage recordings from both the U.S. and overseas.

Perhaps I can generate additional interest by deliberately misspelling words in future posts. big grin

I for one greatly appreciate your efforts, ToneRow, but the next one you do will have to be Kritzerland so that Bruce doesn't feel left out any more. smile

I for one think President's Lady will sell out next, or at least it should. It's an awesome Alfred Newman score and it has the lowest quantity...

It's peculiar to me, though I'm not selling any CDs myself.

When I did a thread at the TalkClassical site on listing your favo(u)rite CPO albums, a member or two probably thought I was working for ArkivMusic. I'm not. I'm simply a lifelong Philadelphia couch potato.

Can we expect additional music from Paul Glass on Kritzerland? smile

Speaking of which, the recent Overlord and Hustle are much appreciated down here.

I expect the North titles to be last to sell out. big grin Such as the past indicates. Freud is a favourite, so that's two in top tier probably to be last.

I throw the dice to Walk In The Spring Rain leaving the stable first.

I'm simply a lifelong Philadelphia couch potato.

Freud, The Agony And The Ecstasy and Walk In The Spring Rain could be edging toward silver?

    Let's try this question:

Which of these titles should have been sold out a loooong time ago?

The answer is: ALL OF THEM!

Well Varese could whip up a bit of interest in the Club releases by, I dunno, releasing a few more! We're halfway through the year & we've had one Club soundtrack released.

I didn't realize that this was still in print. So that's why Kritzerland didn't do it by now smile I wonder if anybody will ever be able to release the soundtrack WITH the Sinatra track frown

I doubt it. The Sinatra estate owns the music and it may be too expensive to license directly.

These are the same executors who raised the price of the Love & Marriage track that Sony had to take off of all the Married With Children DVDs.

I think it is a GREAT idea to try to generate more interest in "vintage" scores. Bravo, ToneRow.

I'm surprised this beautiful Victor Young score has not sold out. Varese made 2,000 copies, a lot for a golden age cd I guess. Still ....... less than 50 left! smile

I would like to see Varese reissue Rozsa's Fedora on CD, I missed it first time around. I would think it would sell very well, Eye of the Needle sold out very quickly.

Varese, more golden age CDs please! smile

These 4 albums were previously described in Varese's site as fewer than 200 or fewer than 175:

    •VIVA ZAPATA and THE 13TH LETTER (?)

    •FREUD (?)

    •PONY SOLDIER (?)

    •CRIME IN THE STREETS (?)

Currently there's no disclosure on their stock status (but I guess there continues to be more than 100 on each album).

Some of them appear to have a permanent price reduction.

Here's the ranking on those with less than 100

•THE VIRGIN QUEEN (fewer than 80)

•THE SNAKE PIT and THE THREE FACES OF EVE (fewer than 75)

•A WALK IN THE SPRING RAIN (fewer than 70)

    •THE PRESIDENT'S LADY (fewer than 50)

THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY is no longer listed @ VS (but continues to be listed @ SAE).
Did this club CD sell out?
