I'm hoping that at some point I'll be able to review the material with the press release.

I think you'll enjoy it.

Already have Vol #2 on the drawing boards...

Our hope is that it will highlight a very different aspect of Basil's career.

Back to the salt mines now.

I'm wondering how Vol #2 is coming along...this short comment is rather tantalizing. What could the "different aspect" be, I wonder.

Absolutely loved the first volume. I would buy a second one without hesitation.

Basil scored a lot of documentaries before he got his big break... perhaps they could mine that material?

Justin, BSX's Jerry Goldsmith Collection Vol. 2 did come out:

Maybe you're thinking of how we never got Jerry Goldsmith: The Early Years Vol. 2?

Rarities was indeed the title of the first BSX volume, but not the series.

That's the *Prometheus* Goldsmith "series" which sadly only lasted a single volume. Nothing at all in common with the BSX Goldsmith series which are rerecordings and have had two volumes so far. I guess the one thing they might have in common is Ford Thaxton?

OH! My mistake, I mixed up the quote with being for the Early Years, when it was for Rarities in actuallity. Disregard!

That's certainly possible but would be strange given Ford's comment about it being a "different aspect" of Basil's career, when this Vol. 1 release prominently had the premiere of a documentary score (Behold Hawaii). So I'm a bit stumped on what aspect of his career Ford could have been referring to. Maybe more poppy stuff (Misfits of Science was only one short demo track on this set)?
