I came across this:

http://www.forwestmedia.com/resources/how-to-guides/text-file-of-a-directory/

A simple way to create a list of anything in a windows folder. In my case, a list of all my ripped CDs as mp3 albums.

I've only ever bought duplicate CDs on 3 or 4 occasions. This is an easy way to create a text list of albums to keep on your phone or tablet.

I'm re-ripping my entire collection (spurred by Lukas's thread) in anticipation of moving to a new music player. My Creative JB 3 is fine, so long as Windows continues to accept the drivers. But I want some hardware that's a little more universal.
I am considering making a player out of Arduino boards or a Raspberry Pi. Very do-it-yourself, but no one else can provide me with the capacity I demand at a reasonable price. Both of these solutions come in >$200.
