A month ago my fiancee took some CDs to the local CD store to see what they would give him. He took 12 CDs ranging from classical, jazz, soundtracks and rock. I had told him that we could sell them on eBay, but he said he did not want to go through the hassle. I told him if they do not give him at least $2.50 for each, bring them back and I will try and sell them on eBay for him. They said that they were only interested in 3 of them and would give him $3.00 cash or $5.00 trade. He said he laughed at the clerk, picked up his CDs and brought them back. Over the last 2 weeks, 8 of the 12 have sold and we have made around $41.00 and that is after eBay/Paypal has taken their chunk in fees. Three of the remaining four are song soundtracks, the only soundtracks he was selling (THE BODYGUARD, FOOTLOOSE and DIRTY DANCING). Does that say anything about soundtracks value? Yes, the ones listed above are everywhere. So, the money is there if you want to take the time to sell them, but do not expect a full return in your investment.

I took in a 13-cd set of Horowitz on Columbia, not sealed but in very good shape. http://www.israbox.com/uploads/posts/2012-09/1347364344_0.jpg One store offered me $9 for the set. The second store offered me $15. I passed. A few months later I went into the second store again, and offered the same set, plus a copy of Sophie's Choice cd, to a different buyer. They gave me $36 in trade.
