Forgot to mention The Keep by Tangerine Dream. I mean it has sort of been released now and its got almost bugger all similarities to whats heard in the film!

Weirdly, it seems like a couple brief cues were actually still left off the Six Degrees of Separation album!

Personally I would have loved if Jerry could have pulled a Fierce Creatures to expand it closer to 30 minutes for album purposes…

Yavar

I did not know that, Yavar! (the extra cues). And I agree, since I find Fierce Creatures to be a perfect listen. In fact, they would pair well!

After decades of hoping for a legitimate release on CD, Mackenna's Gold arrived from Intrada but ended up giving us a POP version of the Old Turkey Buzzard title song instead of Feliciano's film performance, making this a worthless release. There were European and US LP releases of the original album with one using the pop version and the other using the superior original. Intrada gave us the pop.

My all time favorite score easily meets this criteria, very sadly.

The Road Warrior by Brian May.

35mins. 5mins of reprising music with sound efx. 3min. reprise of the Main Title, as End Title.
The full score is around an hour, and I've collected scraps for decades.

The big big miss is the set piece when Max gets the truck and bursts through Humongous' camp, back to the good guys. This 6min action cue is one of the best of the 80s IMO. Amazing stuff.

Agreed. It's a travesty whatever became of the complete score?

And maybe I’m in the minority but CHINATOWN. Yes, I know not much is missing but I want all of it, I want it in order, and I want non-score not to interrupt the flow of the score!

Agree on the second point... it's 50 years later and Varese still hasn't learn NOT to interrupt the score with FUCKING SOURCE MUSIC!

So we can add RUDY: Deluxe and KNOWING: Deluxe to the list for the exactly same reason (and I am sure MANY more).

Assuming, Ampex tapes erased over to save cost for_______
Bloody shame!
There's a mono, incomplete tape source that sounds shite, making the rounds. Sans, The Big Rig Chase.

Finest symphonic score of the 80s IMO... erased.

Battle Beyond the Stars - concludes with 25 minutes of lasers and sound effects and basic noise and no music

Any CD that is a combination of score, dialogue and pop songs - Apollo 13 (the original CD) is a great example.
