Meryl Streep is set to play Maria Callas in a cable adaptation of the play "Master Class".

Faye Dunaway was working a very long time to get her own version of it filmed. I saw her do it on stage in LA at least 15 years ago.

Scuttlebutt is that she filmed and directed her own version, now in post-production.

Are multiple versions in the works? Interesting.

I think the first time I ever read anything about a possible filmed version of this involved Patti LuPone, then starring in it on stage, but that was quite some time ago.

Still have wonderful memories of the 6 times I saw LuPone in "Evita" with Mandy Patinkin and Bob Gunton, truly a cast to die for.

I liked it with Zoe Caldwell, and admired Dunaway's doing it (although it paled in comparison to the Caldwell production).
