Does anyone know if we going have any more titles coming from this label? I have only two titles: “Sunset Blvd.” and “Last Train From Gun Hill’. Both albums are magnificent. I wish to have more Classics with that same production quality.
Maybe preparing The Ten Commandments has been taking up all their time.
Basil, I think Intrada said they are doing The Ten Commandments.
Counterpoint's Sunset Blvd. and Last Train From Gun Hill are fantastic. I wish they would do a few more cds.
I think SAE had said their Counterpoint label would do mostly Paramount golden age cds. I get the feeling Craig and SAE are devoting all their time and resources to their Blu Ray series. As great as their Blu Ray discs are, I would prefer they issue golden age cds. A LOT of people and companies issue dvds, but very few issue golden age cds.
At one point in an October, 2011 update from Screen Archives on what their company was doing, they stated stated more titles would be coming from the label ("and a stepped-up schedule of titles will be rolling out from Counterpoint Records in cooperation with Film Score Monthly's Lukas Kendall."), but so far no new titles have surfaced or been announced
Regretably, I would think that Counterpoint went out of business producing CD's when FSM stopped producing CD's. Lukas Kendall now does his work for other labels. If I am wrong, it would be nice to hear from the people involved.
Would some one from SAE updated us on Counterpoint cds?
I really like their Sunset Blvd. and Last Train From Gun Hill.
Is the Craig posting above Craig Spaulding?
As I mentioned above, it looks like SAE is putting its time and money into their Blu Ray discs. Thousands of labels do Blu Rays, only a handful do golden age cds. SAE's Blu Rays are wonderful, but has this put an end to Counterpoint?
