TRUE DETECTIVE---creator Nic Pizzolatto confirmed Season 2 will have four lead characters and is set in California. He commented on rumors that the plot involves the "secret occult history" of the California transportation system, "I would actually just stick with 'set in California.' I'd rather not to elaborate on that." Season 2 will use multiple directors.

EXTANT---the Halle Berry sci fi series premiere drew an impressive 9.4 million viewers.
THE KNICK---Cinemax renewed the Steven Soderbergh medical series for Season 2 even though Season 1 premiers on August 8. Set in 1900 New York, Clive Owen stars as a brilliant doctor at the Knickerbocker Hospital.
THE DISAPPOINTMENTS ROOM---Kate Beckinsale stars in this horror movie in which a couple and their young son move into their dream house only to discover the attic holds a horrible past. DJ Caruso (DISTURBIA) is the director.
APEX---sci fi movie in which a special ops team attempts to disarm a North Korean weapon of mass destruction only to be transported to a planet where they must combat deadly aliens. Darren Lynn Bousman (SAW II-IV) is the director.
THE MAGICIANS---new Syfy series in which New York twenty-somethings study magic and discover the fantasy world they enjoyed as children is real and threatens mankind.
THE LIGHT BETWEEN OCEANS---Rachel Weisz is in negotiations to co-star with Michael Fassbender in this movie based on the novel. The plot involves an Australian lighthouse keeper and his wife who discover a boat washed up on shore with a dead man and a baby girl. The couple raise the girl as their which leads to dire consequences.
OLIVE KITTERIDGE---HBO four-part miniseries underway based on the novel about middle school math teacher in a small New England town. Frances McDormand and Richard Jenkins star.
