I've been listening to this on a near-constant loop. The first film might have the most nostalgia but the second film's score really does it for me: the themes from the first film, plus the romantic theme for Jane, plus the ridiculously fun and frenetic action cues. The tracks "We Got Work to Do/Nordberg Plants the Bug" and "Frank Tank/Trumpet Fanfare" have been holy grails for a long time! All that and the "Satin Doll" instrumental!
Received mine today, with the signed insert. I'm listening to the first score at the moment and am absolutely loving it! It sounds terrific, nice job, LLL!
Wait, he signed the actual cover?... Not the booklet, the cover.... God freaking dangit. I actually wasn't in a rush to buy this soundtrack with the signature because I knew that since it was a 3-Disc set that it was going to be a 4-Disc cases. And when it comes to those kind of cases, La-La Land always has the booklets signed rather than the front cover. Problem with having just the booklets signed is that they are almost impossible to display alongside the other signed soundtracks. Yeah, those are booklets too, but they also have the primary function of being the front cover artwork. With the 4-Disc cases, they're just simple booklets that are stowed away inside the case getting damaged by the disc holders in the center. Putting them in any kind of holder is almost suicide for the signatures because most of the time the composers use metallic sharpies which are nothing but wax, and that stuff rubs off very easily.
